4Quality socks, but only for larger shoe sizes
By D. Kerr
I bought these directly from amazon, rather than a third party seller. The socks came in a retail RJS bag that included a sheet with washing instructions. One of the socks had a "100% nomex" stamp near the toe, but I can't imagine that lasting long. The socks themselves are feel quality, no bad seams, slightly off-white (as most nomex is), and with a long, stretch cuff that goes about halfway up the calf. They are also much thinner than they appear in the picture. The picture makes them look like they should be similar to athletic tube socks, when in fact they are closer to the thickness of fine dress socks.

The one downside of these socks for me is the sizing. I generally wear size 11.5 to 12 shoes, so the fact that these socks are sized at 10-13 made me think they'd fit quite well. It turns out you're better off if you're on the far large size of the spectrum, around a size 13, possibly more. Without stretching, the heel of the sock is up the back of my ankle , and tends to move higher as I put on my shoes. It means you have to be careful to avoid folds/wrinkles which can lead to blisters. I find it workable, especially with another pair of socks underneath, but I can't imagine how someone with a size 10 shoe could possible wear these.

5They're socks!
By Scott Chamberlain
Not much to say here except that they're socks, and the will pass tech in most race series. I wear a 10.5 shoe so these were a little large and I ended up wearing them over a pair of short regular socks.
